Several weekends ago, I had the absolute pleasure to spend a few hours in the sunshine on #RodeoBeach in the #MarinHeadlands with this beautiful and powerful woman, along with her delightful children! Barbara McVeigh is a mother, an author, a filmmaker, a sailor, a passionate environmentalist, among many other things. When I met her at the #RacingExtinction film premiere in Mill Valley, I knew I wanted to make a #copepod pattern to support the film she recently produced. #RacingwithCopepods, directed by Carlos Grana, funded by 11th Hour Racing, and featuring Dr. #SylviaEarle is a documentary that promotes #adventureecology, featuring 12 middle school youths who take a race sailing course and study the fastest animals on earth - copepods - and "in the process connect with the natural marine world and become advocates for its well-being." The film was part of the Tassie Eco Film Fest in Tasmania in 2015, and an official selection of the #WildandScenicFilmFestival in 2016. Stay tuned for images from our fun photo shoot with copepods on silk, when the #Anima website launches soon!
